I got the idea awhile ago to maybe install a hidden toilet paper roller around my desk (Silly, I know!) I wasn't sure how it would work so I went in search for the cheapest, self adhesive one I could find and this worked perfect.
I have it up right now and it works very well. The plastic is sturdy and it sticks to the wall well. My boyfriend thinks I'm nuts that my desk was a toilet paper roller nearby but who cares? =pThis fell off the tile wall in the middle of the night after 8 hours of installation. It was installed to a clean tile wall with significant pressure applied. The 2 small pieces of double sided foam tape are not designed to hold weight. And the color isn't white. It is light grey. This is a piece of junk not worthy of being on the Amazon web site.
(I had hoped this was similar to a self-adhesive toilet paper holder that had stuck to the same wall for over a decade until the wife smashed it with vacuum cleaner, breaking the plastic. Even then it was difficult to remove with a drywall putty knife. This 10+ year old one had a larger hard adhesive patch that worked well.)

This doesn't have enough strength to hold the papers. Came lose and fell off within 10 mins after attaching on a surface. This toilet paper holder needs some to wipe it because it is crappy! It has two adhesive strips to hold it to the wall; not glue. It fell down within one day. Thumbs down to this product!Want Stick-On Toilet Paper Tissue Roll Holder - Self Adhesive - No-Tool Installation Discount?
Three stars because the product does what it is supposed to do: hold a roll of toilet paper. Otherwise, it's not a great product even considering the minimal price. The item is made from very flimsy plastic but that is almost to be expected at this price point. I bought it because it is supposed to feature an adhesive attachment (I needed something that did not require drilling holes and was removable). Unfortunately, the two adhesive strips provided are very narrow (each about .25" wide x 1.5" long) and do not provide a lot of surface contact. Even after careful surface preparation on a smooth, non-porous surface, the holder fell off after about 6 hours. I replaced the original strips with wider and better quality 3M adhesive strips and those are working fine now. In essence, what the originally provided adhesive strips appear intended to do is hold the item in place long enough for you to drill holds and screw it into place (and screws are provided). However if you want a proper adhesive attachment, you're most likely going to need to do something similar to what I did.
So to sum it up, it's another case of you get what you pay for. It can be made to work but I would not recommend this for a permanent installation or a heavy use application.
