High quality porcelain. High quality bronze. If you scratch the finish the brass underneath will show through. The finish is thick but it's not a plate-finish. Under normal conditions this shouldn't get scratched. If it does get scratched you can just brush on some acid patina to refinish it since it is still solid metal underneath.It's pretty nostalgic to have a set like this, with the enameled design on ceramic, it is unique.
