I got tired of having my hair products spread out through several drawers & hated having to leave my flat iron on the counter until it cooled. This is a nifty little design. I am able to keep the items I used on a daily basis together. I just pull it out of the cabinet. I can put my flat iron into the holder right after I am finished & put the whole thing away. It hangs okay from the towel rack if your towel rack is really secure & it helps if there is a towel there to keep it more stable. It is a little shallow to hold my dryer. Overall I am really happy with it.
I instantly thought it was genius, and would be so useful for me, as I will be going off to college in the fall and staying in the dorms.
I began looking at the Polder Style Station and had mixed opinions on it. After reading the reviews, I realized how awkwardly shaped it was. I also hated the fact that there wasn't an extra compartment for a brush or anything, without sacrificing one of the appliance openings.
So, I decided to see if I could find another hair appliance caddy, and came across the StyleAway.
I decided to get it and try it.
Overall, I'm pretty pleased.
Like other reviewers have said, I'm not sure how I feel about the hook...
Personally, I'm a little afraid to use it. It just feels a little flimsy, and after reading other reviews about their hooks breaking or even just having difficulty getting it to stay, I really haven't even tried out the hook yet, just because I'm afraid about it breaking.
But, overall, the caddy isn't bad. It has a lot of room in it.
On the left side (when you're looking at it), there are 2 metal slots. One is a little bigger, and one is smaller. I use the larger opening for my hair straightener, and the smaller opening for my curling wand. There is a slight gap between the metal part (it's supposed to be that way); the instructions tell you not to place anything there, but I find that it's perfect where I can put the cord right there next to it, so they aren't hanging out. Then there is the large compartment on the middle. As of now, I keep a brush, mirror, and comb in there. On the right side are two other "cubbies". I find that they work perfect for a large can of hairspray, and I keep my thermal spray in the front one.
There is certainly room for a hair dryer in one of the slots too (if I were to move one of my sprays into the middle section), I just don't have mine in there right now.
Overall, for the price, I love it.
It would be nice if they had a sturdier handle (and apparently one that sets on a bar easier), but, I really don't care about that right now. As of right now, it just sits on top of a shelf anyways, so I don't mind.
But for $20, I can't really complain.
