Leifheit 25660 Parat Royal Wall-Mounted Paper Towel Holder

Very attractive unit. HOWEVER, there are major problems. )1) it is very difficult to load the foil or wrap; (2) the cutting blades often jam against the wrap and hang up when you pull them across the wrap; (3) cutting blades are not sharp enough they often only score the wrap rather than slice it; and (4) the rolls of wrap are not stable in the holders since they simply rest there,they tend to shift both back and forth and to each side, making pulling and cutting difficult. Also, it will hold only smaller (e.g. 75 foot) rolls. Paper towel holder is chintzy, and works best with smaller rolls larger rolls rub up against the wall and interfere with smooth pulling. We are trying hard to master this unit because it is so attractive, but it's a long battle after 3 weeks of use.

I found this on the internet years ago and it has always been "unavailable". I was so excited when it became available, perhaps my expectations were too high. It is a good concept, but so far my issues with it outweigh the benefits. A standard size foil roll will not fit in it. By the time the foil roll is small enough to fit, it will not come out smoothly. It is constantly getting bunched up and sometimes rips off before I even use the cutter. And speaking of the cutters, when you try to slide it across it often gets caught on the roll of plastic or foil that is sitting inside the holder. Also, I had to put oil on the cutters when I first installed it because they were so "rough" when they slid across. Overall, not that happy with this product.

This must take an award for the most poorly designed and worst functioning kitchen device! I had an earlier Leifheit model that served me well for fifteen years. I chose this model to replace the old one. It is attractive, but that is all that can be said for this device. The rolls of foil or plastic wrap constantly jam and the cutting sliders have tiny plastic ears that break off with little or no effort. This item is junk and a waste of money at any cost! Do yourself a huge favor and avoid the remorse that purchasing this holder will bring.

This is beautiful if all you want is an ornament for your wall. The cutters don't reach the wrap inside so all its good for is probably the paper towel holder. I was so frustrated with this product that I didn't bother adding the paper towel holder. Complete waste of money.

We have had one of these for years...this is our 3rd one in 33 years and we have always loved it. You just have to be careful putting the papertowels in the holder...open them up slightly or you can snap off the bracket (as we have done twice before).
