Hansgrohe 40526000 S and E Accessories Paper Holder, Chrome

Beautiful, extremely well-made, and surprisingly versitile. Though not described as so, it can be install left-handed or right-handed. Hansgrohe is always a bit pricey, but worth the splurge.

Not made in China. Decent instruction all needed pieces inside the package. Choosing the brand name was the way to go.

I bought 6 (plus a spare) of the Hansgrohe faucets and I wanted to finish off the bathrooms with matching towel racks etc. I could not find a 30 inch chrome towel rack I could only find a 30 inch in brushed nickel finish. So I have been looking at several options. I had ordered this paper holder just to see how well I liked the matching parts before I found out I could not find my towel bars. I like the quality well enough and thought about what I really needed and decided to repurpose this as a towel holder!!! I had one white towel holder (ring) that needed replacing to match the new faucets. I kept looking at this as a paper holder but I had it sitting on the sink and looked over at the towel ring and voila! It would fit perfectly and it matched the faucet and looked really good. I got out my tools and in a few minuts I had a square shaped towel holder instead of a ring. This is quite sturdy and easily holds a full size bath towel just as easily as a hand towel.

The screws that came with this were made to screw into a stud, not drywall. I used my own screws and anchors. This did come with anchors but the screws had a long "no thread" area that would not allow any threads in the drywall area. I didn't take off a star for this it seems like such a minor thing and it was easily taken care of. Plus it did not affect the final finish in any way. I'm not sure if there were supposed to be two sets of screws with this one for stud mounting area and one for open drywall area or not.

I would like to point out that unlike the picture i have my holder pointed the other way (the opening is to the right). This was for two reasons the hex screws that hold the paper holder to the mount are then on the bottom and right side and the opening is away from the doorway. I was afraid someone would snag themselves if the open side was very near the door.

So in thinking outside the box I have a very nice, very different towel holder.

I agree that this item is very well made... It's surprisingly heavy, so they used good amount of metal (not plastic). The way that this holder is designed, it'll be pretty hard to accidentally pull it off of the wall (if you don't attach it to stud). We love it.
