It is, however, a very nice looking holder, when it isn't falling apart. It matches perfectly with my oak cabinets and I do generally like it. I have not found a better one for some reason no one makes roll holders anymore where the stick goes all the way through (a conspiracy by the paper towel makers I tell you!).My husband had looked all over for a wooden paper towel holder. When he saw this one, he was thrilled. Unfortunately, the one described and the one we received were not exactly the same. He had wanted the walnut holder. What we received was not walnut (or at least not properly stained). The holder itself is a bit wider than a standard roll of paper towels. Without a dowel running the lenth of the holder, the paper towel roll fell off. Luckily, my hubby is a "fixit" man and replaced the "spindles" with a full length dowel.

It came half stained. The right hand piece that is removable for replacing the towle roll droops. This item should have a full dowel to make it work. However, if you don't mind a roll, that drops to the right, then this product does a good job.Read Best Reviews of Mountain Woods Walnut Paper Towel Holder Here
I purchased the towel holder and immediately noticed that the short removal towel holder/replacement dowel on the right side is so short that the paper towel roll either falls off or sags when installed. I took it to Home depot and purchased a longer dowel and wooden knob that does a much better job. Some day I will drill a hole through the left side and mount a full length dowel rod so it functions properly and supports the towel roll at a level angle. Stain and finish were a perfect match with my cabinet.
