Spectrum 36778 Luna Paper Towel Holder, Satin Nickel

Spectrum 36778 Luna Paper Towel Holder, Satin NickelA paper towel dispenser doesn't have to do much just sit in a stable position to allow you rip a towel off with one hand. Amazing then, that 95% of the "stand up" style towel holders don't do this because they are too light. This one weighs in at 945g which is the heaviest I have seen. I wish it were a little heavier a paper towel holder can't be too heavy! The heaviest I have ever seen is a vintage one that weighs 1300g.

The ball on top screws in with a 10-32 thread. It takes an annoying number of turns to get it fully lock in place. You might think it would be convenient to just leave the ball off, but it contributes a significant amount to the overall weight. This would be one area for improvement. But since this is the best dispenser on the market I decided to leave the rating at 5 stars.

I ordered two of these for my new kitchen. I liked the clean look. Unfortunately, they were not tall enough for a standard roll of paper towels. We are talking Bounty from Walmart, nothing fancy. The rod part wouldn't screw securely into the base, so it wobbled around non-stop. Even trying to screw the ball finial part into the rod part was impossible because it would squash down the roll of towels, rendering it completely useless. Buy these only if you want the hassle of returning them immediately.
