We have kids so we need the ledge in order to make sure things stay on the shelf. This shelf is easy to install and looks great under our mirror. It is about 20 inches long and extends 4-5 inches out from the wall.

I ordered two of these and they do look great. For anyone who is looking for brushed nickel, these do have the correct finish. However, the instructions say to turn the screwdriver 6-8 full rotations and not to over-tighten. We tried this and the shelves fell off almost immediately, even though the anchors felt secured when pulling on them. My husband then counted 50 half rotations and tried hanging the shelves again. The anchors did not break and the shelves are now securely attached. I'm not sure if the anchors we got were defective, but this was the case with all 4 of them. So, if anyone ends up ordering this shelf, I would suggest tightening the anchors a bit more than the instructions indicate. *You do need a 1/4" drill bit for installation.

This is an attractive piece. I like it because it has the little ledge so whatever you put on it is not necessarily going to fall off. Matches the toilet paper holder and was very easy to mount.
