Spectrum 16871 Over The Door Drawer/Cabinet Towel Ring, Brushed Nickel

I am not sure why this thing seems to be so highly rated. Don't get me wrong. It is of good quality but the design of the attachment bracket sucks. The lip that is supposed to secure it to the door is way too shallow. My doors are about 5/8 inch thick and rounded. The depth of the bracket is about 7/8". That would be OK if the rear part of the bracket (not visible in the photos) was longer. It is only about 3/8" (Why make it so short?). Not enough to allow bending to compensate for the loose fit due to shallower door thickness and/or a rounded door edge. It barely stays on the door without even trying to use it for a towel. Impossible to make it work without constantly falling off the door. The only reason I am giving it two stars is that it is of very good quality. I hope it works for you but pay heed to my description and your door thickness/shape specifics before ordering.

I am not sure what over the door it's made for. It does not stray on the cabinet door. It falls off. Very Poor design. I would not recommend it. And definitely not worth $13.30. a TOTAL WASTE of money

This is a really nice looking towel ring and would make a beautiful accent if it fit. After reading the reviews I initially decided not to purchase but when the price went back down I took a chance on the low price...bad idea. It doesn't fit any cabinets in my home. I finally tied rubber bands to the inside of the hook just to keep it from falling down every time I brushed by it. I don't think its worth the price of returning and I do intend on keeping it, I just need to figure out a permanent way of keeping it secure.

This is a great, but tricky item. It is made to fit on a pretty thick cupboard/cabinet door. Ours doesn't reallyl fit so it falls down all the time, but we still use it for the convenience of having a towel where we need it! It's very sturdy and looks very nice. Just be aware that a thinner cabinet will not have a perfect fit here.

I bought two of these. One for my bathroom and one for my kitchen. In both cases, they were placed on a flip-down false drawer front. The ring and its hook are perfectly fine construction and work well. However, the back of the hook is not very long and the ring was falling off even when taking a towel out of the ring. My solution was to drill a small hole in the back of the hook and drive a screw into the back to hold it in place. This is completely out of sight and has done the trick. This is now perfect for our needs.
