This rug is not overly plush or luxurious. For me it is practical and beige and blends in with the flooring. I needed a small washable rug for my dog (a mostly blind cocker spaniel) that likes to stay near me in the kitchen. While he has doggy beds, I wanted this one to place in a space often walked over, so it needed to be flat and washable. It is what I wanted for a reasonable price. The mitt, potholders and towels that came with it were simply a bonus that are also useful items in the kitchen. Now Ollie has a spot to collapse while I work nearby. It is fairly thin, but for me it accomplishes what was needed.
