Besides being made of very thin cheap looking metal (I was expecting a heavier, maybe even cast base), the internal threads on the chicken were bad and could not be threaded on the mating stem end. The material between the chicken figure and the threaded base is very very thin and I feel eventually it would be twisted off even if threads were ok.

This holder is very pretty to look at but when you hold it you realize how lightweight and cheap it is. It would be much better if a weight was added underneath. The chicken at the top of the holder arrived bent and almost broken off completely. The metal is soft so i gently bent it back to an almost upright position so it is workable. You need to unscrew the chicken every time that you need to change the roll so I hope that it lasts. Definitely not the greatest.

They have good absorption and (IMHO) are much more durable that the towels produced by Georgia Pacific and their many forest product subsidiaries. The case lot is 4000 single towels in 16 packs of 250 towels. For me, this comes out to 0.011 cents (US) per towel, including tax that is only a small fraction more than I would pay for the Marcal towels at COSTCO (per towel at COSTCO is 0.0102 cents).

I love the hand towels! When you purchase them in bulk, you really get your monies worth. I have small hands and I would use two towels because they are a little thinner than the kneenex hand towels so someone with large hands would use three to four sheets. It's still a steal because you get 250 sheets in each carton with 16 cartons in a big box delivered at your door step. I will be buying more and telling friends about this product. I was a little afraid that the hooks would overwhelm the beauty of the glass, but they don't at all, and I believe the hooks provide the stability. Not much else to say, but twelve more words required to complete form.

Red is such a good accent color for a kitchen and this set is a fine example. The red poppies are a favorite design of mine and for an attractive touch, this set will not disappoint. The overall quality could be better; I have washed all items and the printed design on the towels is subject to fading. I find it better to use solid red towels for everyday use and save the poppy towels for "show!"

Gatco 4243 Latitude II European Tissue Holder, Chrome

This is a very attractive toilet paper holder that looks more expensive in person than in the photo or than the low cost would suggest. They lose one star from me for cheaping out on the wall anchors. This toilet paper holder needs to be tight against the wall, and I think it's easier to get it to stay tightly mounted to the wall with better wall anchors than the 20 cent plastic ones they include. I'm sure others have better luck with the included wall anchors than I did, but consider the following suggestions before proceeding. Decide before drilling which wall anchors you want to use, because once you drill two holes big enough for the included wall anchors, only a few hardware store wall anchors will fit in those holes if the included ones are not good enough for you either.

If you happen to be installing this TP holder directly over a wooden stud behind the wallboard, you do *not* need and should not use any wall anchor. In that case, you do *not* want to drill a hole large enough for a wall anchor. If you have no studfinder, drill a pilot hole using a drill bit slightly smaller than the included screws to see if there happens to be a stud there. If so, you're in luck and should skip the wall anchors. Drill another pilot hole and screw the mounting plate directly to the stud.

In the likely event that there is no wall stud behind the wallboard where the TP holder is being mounted, you would ideally need a 5/16" drill bit for the included wall anchors. Note that 5/16" is slightly larger than a 1/4" bit many drill bit sets cap out at. If you don't have it/can't borrow it, you may want to order this bit with the TP holder or plan a trip to the hardware store. You can also probably succeed with a little more time and effort by just using a 1/4" drill bit and wobbling it around in the drilled hole to enlarge it an additional 1/16".

Work to get each wall anchor *tight* and flush (so to speak) against the wallboard, in front of and behind the wallboard where you can't see it, or this TP holder will wobble and could pull out of the wall with use. Personally, I couldn't get it tight enough with the included anchors. To be successful, it's important to keep tightening the screw past the point where it is flush with the mounting plate.

I abandoned ship on these included cheap wall anchors and used a couple of better ones from the hardware store. Choose and use with care though, because you want wall anchors that will not get hung up on each other behind the wallboard as you tighten them. The two screws on the mounting plate sit pretty close to one another, so if you get spreading wall anchors, you will have to position them with care so that their wings spread and remain off the vertical axis in relation to one another so they don't tangle. You also need to get wall anchors with screws small enough in diameter to fit through the mounting plate holes. (This is why I suggest only a few aftermarket wall anchors will fit in pilot holes already drilled for the included plastic wall anchors. Home Depot did have ones that worked for me, but most of the choices they carried would not work.) Another workaround in this situation where you tried the plastic anchors and want something more stable after drilling 5/16" pilot holes would be to spackle the pilot holes you drilled for the plastic wall anchors, give it a couple of days to dry, and then start over drilling smaller new pilot holes for smaller aftermarket wall anchors.

Study the tiny diagram showing how to mount the small wall plate with care. There's only one correct way to orient it. Backwards or upside down will not work. Once I switched to better-quality wall anchors from a hardware store and positioned everything correctly, installation was a snap. Most importantly, once successfully installed, this TP holder is very attractive and feels very solid and securely mounted on the wall.

This item is high quality and matches perfectly with the other satin nickel fixtures in the powder room. Also it generates much less paper dust than the old style holder we had. Replacing the rolls is super easy so I am hoping that the other members of my family will be able to master that task now.

I am a retired residential remodeling contractor with more than 20 years of experience remodeling and repairing bathrooms and kitchens. It is actually possible that this fixture could by installed by a very knowledgable contractor under certain conditions (see the 3 star review above). Irrespective of how they are fastened to the wall, TP holders of this design have two critical design shortcomings.

First, there is only a single mounting post. This means that any strain placed on the cross bar of this type of fixture, whether or not it is holding a roll of tissue, will have a levering effect in the form of increased torque on the mounting bracket. Over time, this repetitive torquing will loosen the attachment to the wall, not to mention damaging the wall.

Second, the cross bar is off center which only increases the levering effect should someone grab the fixture to regain balance when sitting down before toilet use or when getting up after use. In all my years as a remodeler, I rarely saw one of these fixtures with a level cross bar.

This fixture design may be considered stylish by architects and interior designers. Manufacturers may produce them with expensive finishes and charge the consumer a hefty price. The majority however, are cheaply produced knockoffs and sold by the likes of Home Depot and Lowes. The point is that the laws of physics are not suspended. This type of fixture is typically located when it can be easily bumped, grabbed hold of, twisted, or pulled on. It is located in place in the house which is visited by female occupants up to five times a day, and males at least once a day. No longer are most bathroom walls composed of thick plaster over metal lath with or without a ceramic tile overlay. Today's home typically has 1/2" gypsum drywall surrounding the toilet. An extremely conscientious contractor will provide wooden blocking behind such wall surfaces wherever the homeowner plans to attach surface mounted fixtures such as tissue holders, towel bars, safety grab bars, etc.

Considering the realities of bathroom construction, wouldn't manufacturers be wise to ask of each item in their product line "how well will this product work over the long term for the homeowner who buys it?"

I purchased this to replace my old toilet paper holder which wouldn't stay straight.

The product looks great and is easy to install. But, after a week of use I am not sure it is going to make it more than a few months.

The horizontal bar has already loosened from the post and the toilet paper has taken on a bit of a lean. It no longer sits perfectly level.

I will take it down and see if there a screw that can be tightened between these two parts, but really, why do I have to do that?

Oh right... I paid $16 for a toilet paper holder.

Obviously, this could be solved if the arm and the post were cast as one piece. Obviously, such a product wouldn't cost $16.

I had this white plastic portable paper towel holder I loved and I had it for about 20 years -I'd never seen another one like it. It was perfect for my apartment. It fit nicely on top of my refrigerator and in my small kitchen, there really isn't any place for an under-cabinet mounted paper towel holder. Then, one day, I knocked the thing off the top of the fridge and a piece broke off.

This stainless and black plastic OXO Goodgrips Grip and Rip is close to the one I broke and better, actually. The brushed stainless body of it looks great. It has enough weight to stay put. The rubber ring on its bottom grips the countertop and leaves no marks of any kind.

The bottom of the unit has a slightly raised rim to keep the towels from unwinding on their own, and unlike another unit I considered, the base isn't larger than it needs to be -yet it will hold the large-sized roll of towels as well as the smaller standard size.

What I really like about it is the fact that the whole unit rotates on a bearing when you pull towels off. You can put your hand flat on top of the knob to steady it, and the stainless top of the knob allows the unit to rotate underneath it. When you've unrolled just the number of towels you want to tear off, you only need to grip the clingy rubber underside of the knob with your hand and the unit won't turn so you can tear off the towels.

To refill, just press the black button top center on the knob and it comes off so you can remove the empty carboard tube and slip on a new roll. The knob snaps easily into place again.

Couldn't be simpler and couldn't work better. And it fits into the limited space I have on top of the fridge. Seriously, I have to hand it to OXO Good Grips -their products are typically excellent and this one is, too.

After having purchased several other Oxo products, naturally when I saw this I had to have it. Performs well and stylish. A loyal Oxo fan.

This towel ring is perfect, it is heavy weight, and has a quality finish. The wall mount is such an improvement from the ones I have purchased in the past where you had to tighten a little recessed screw and it always seemed to come loose. This mount actual slides over (from the top)and eliminates the problem of having the towel ring come off in your hands because there is now little screw to loosen up. Love this! Umbra Palm Double Hand Towel Tree

This towel tree is actually 13.5" tall, which I was hoping it would be. (It's not 10.5" as listed on the website.) It's great for your bathroom if you choose not to have a traditional wall towel bars as it will hold both a hand towel and washcloth. It's handsome and neat.

Dimensions from countertop to: top of back bar = 13.5"; to top of front bar = 11.75". Bars from end to end = 10.5" (this include decorative "end caps" on both sides). There is roughly 2.5" between the bars. My standard size handtowels will drape inches onto the countertop if using the front bar; and will skim the countertop if using the back bar. This is used in my kids' bathroom and I tell them to drape a single towel over both bars. It's easier for them to drape over two bars versus threading a towel onto a single bar. (They're young.) Using my double drape method is not attractive; but it serves its purpose of keeping damp towels off the counter. Giving it four stars because the base was dented. It was the holidays and I couldn't deal with the hassel of a return. While the dent is probably due more to Amazon's packaging versus the manufacturer, I'm sticking with four stars for the fact that the metal was pliable and inferior enough to dent.

The towel bar in my bathroom is rather inconveniently located and there's really no better place it could have been hung. So this towel bar is just right for me. I wish I would have ordered it years ago... Actually, the tallest of the bars is taller than the dimensions given in the description, so it accommodates a regular hand towel perfectly. The base of the towel tree keeps it very sturdy no wobbling. I have been using a similar but smaller towel tree (also by Umbra) in my guest bathroom for about a year now, and the finish shows absolutely no signs of rust or staining. We put a downstairs powder room in our basement and made the mistake of installing an expensive European type toilet roll holder the kind with roll holder open at one end. What a mistake! It constantly needed tightening and the roll of paper ended up on the floor within a day or two. I wanted something that looked nice and was supported at two ends to avoid the same problem in the future. I wasn't too sure that a holder for less than $6.00 would look acceptable in a nice powder room, but I figured why not take a chance? I've got to tell you that this unit looks great and is easy to install. Just make sure you have a very small flat head screw driver to attach the unit to its brackets. If you like its appearance, try this one out. It's really an attractive holder that looks like it would sell for many times its price.

I got this item and was done installing it in 5 minutes to be exact.

This comes in a plastic bag (from China) and in it there are 4 screws and 2 metal-like wall

Fixtures that need to be secure onto the wall using the 4 screws mentioned above.

After that you need a small flat screwdriver to secure the holder itself onto the metal-like fixtures.

It is worthy to note that the metal-like fixtures need to be placed on the wall with the even surface facing

Away from you and towards the wall, otherwise when you try to secure it it will just slip away and not secure

For this installation I used my drill, 4 drywall anchors, and my leveler. (none of these included in this package)

And the provided 4 screws.

It was easy to do.

Took me about 4 minutes to install this... love it, looks good, sturdy and very simple! No instructions come with this, it just comes in a bag inside a shipping box. So you better figure it out before you screw it on the wall, my 14 year old son tried to make me install the inner brackets backwards, but I realized that the handles would have nothing to hold onto if they were turned he other way. The sharp plastic edges on this magnetic towel bar scratched my brand new fridge. The magnets are not strong enough to keep it from moving and scratching the surface it is mounted on.

I have absolutely no place for a towel bar in my kitchen near my sink. I desperately needed a magnetic solution. This worked perfectly on the side of my refrigerator. The magnets are pretty strong!

Yes, it will move if you pull hard on it, but it stays in place pretty well with the rubber feet and angle it rests the feet. I choose to lift towels off instead of just tugging from the bottom on one side. I do use hand-towels while they are on the rack without problem. It does move down the side an inch or two over months of use in my kitchen and I easily just move it back up. Sure, if you pull hard on it, it will move, but for me under normal wear and tear, it stays put. Yes, the sliding magnets can scratch, but the scrathes for me are very tiny and barely noticeable. If you slide anything metal on metal, of course it has a potential to scratch. The rubber feet don't scratch. You can barely see any tiny scratches after a full year of use at my house.

I am *extremely* happy with mine.

The towel bar works well but make sure it's where you want it when you put it on a metal surface. When I tried it out on my white refrigerator I had difficulty removing it because the magnets are so powerful. When I pulled, the magnets came unstuck from the towel rods and I had to glue them back. When I finally pried them off, a little white paint came off the frig. Other than that I'm very happy with the towel rod.

For some reason, I was thinking the napkin holder would be made out of metal (the black part), but instead it's plastic (or a plastic-like material) -so it's not what I expected. It looks OK, but as another person wrote, it is very big. The metal holder-piece is nice, but doesn't really seem to go with the plastic. I just had higher expectations. It looks OK from a distance, and I'll keep it cause it's not worth sending back ... but the picture does make it nicer than I think it is in person. So, I'm a little disappointed. At least it was cheap!

We have a ceiling fan over the table, so napkins used to fly around in every meal. This holder does the job.

The reason I don't give it five stars is that it is a little bigger than necessary; after positioning the napkins in the middle (no one is folding them in triangles) it has 2 inches of empty space in every direction.

Overall, it is nice, sturdy, and does the job.

It's great!!! I needed a holder that could house the big rolls of paper towels and this one fits. Even though it is a wall mount, I installed it in my laundry room under the cabinet which is right over the sink. It's perfect. I would definitely recommend this holder.

Was really anticipating a paper towel holder which might actually hold my paper towels. On the web site this appeared to be similar to a sturdy one we owned decades ago (it was maple).

When it arrived in 6 pieces needing assembly, I was surprised. When my very handy husband (he built an ocean sailing boat) had difficulty matching the poorly fashioned pieces, we decided to return this. The pieces were mis-aligned, not allowing a functioning dowel for the towel. In addition, the wood is not sturdy at all. If this is the more expensive product (18.00), then what is the quality of the less expensive bamboo holder (10.00)?

The price of this towel bar was good, but, the usefulness was lacking. It is designed to hold two towels, one behind the other, but, the two bars are so close together-in both height and depth that you can't put a towel on the rack if there is already one on the outer bar. A real inconvenience.

I found this product very adequate and Amazon's transaction as good as can be expected (A+) "HOWEVER".

I've been having problems with this bar staying on the wall base clip. It appears that there is a little flaw in the casting where the V-groove is not deep enough on one of the bases. I belive that I can grind it out with a dremel but wished to contact Moen for warrenty info 1st.

Here's where the rub comes. I contacted Moen a couple months ago via Email with no response. We finally called them this week only to find out that Amazon.com is not an "authorized" dealer so there is no warrenty. I guess that I'm going to hope that that I can repair the base and not have to purchase another from an authorized dealer so much for the savings!!

No problems with installation but I do recommend not using there anchor screws. Save yourself some time and go to your local hardware store and buy the anchors that go through the walls and tightens up to the sheet rock as you are tighten it to the wall, this will prevent the future wall pull-out on a hard tugged.

You can never have enough towel racks in your bathroom because everyone using the bathroom uses at least 1 towel and sometimes two. I got these as extra towel racks.

I ordered this set because of the brand name, the price and because it matches what I have already. Good quality bathroom fixtures don't come cheap and I was happy to find this at a discount at Amazon.

Installation was a cinch. I used the supplied screws and anchors and the instructions even serve as a template for spacing. I used a level to make sure the rack was on even, drilled 4 holes and installed the whole thing in about 10 mins. from start to finish.

Other reviewers here have complained about the spacing and I measured them. There is exactly two inches of space between the two bars horizontally and that's plenty of drying space for me. I love them, they look great, gives me space for 2 extra towels, came with a discount and free shipping (because I ordered other stuff at the same time), just wonderful!

Installed this tonight. The box helpfully includes a drilling template and instructions which roughly say tape the template where you want to mount the toilet paper holder, make pencil marks through the template onto the wall, remove the template, and drill the holes. It says the two posts should be '6-3/8" / 162mm' apart. I made the marks, measured to confirm my points were the stated distance apart, and drilled. And then found IT DOESN'T FIT! The dowel doesn't actually extend the full distance between the posts, so it won't stay in place. I measured the excess with a tape measure at 7/16" (almost half an inch!). Re-drilled minus that distance and it fits. I don't know if the instructions are wrong for everyone or if only my particular unit's dowel was way too short, but either way: being so far off (6.8% of the supposed distance) is completely inexcusable. Fortunately the posts are large enough to cover the extra holes, but it's just infuriating for a template to be wrong like this.

If you do get this model, do what I should have done: try mounting the holder on the cardboard box or a piece of scrap wood before actually drilling holes into your wall. You will probably find your holes are too far apart.

Aside from the instruction problem, it's about what you'd expect. Cheap plastic thing but looks like brushed nickel and successfully holds a roll of toilet paper. Apparently there are toilet paper holders on the market that are suitable as a grab bar for an elderly/disabled person who has trouble standing. As the included instructions warn, this isn't one of them. Don't put any weight on it or it will break. Just spin the toilet paper and occasionally change it. You might have to be a little careful not to break the dowel's spring mechanism when changing rolls. I don't expect my toilet paper holder to get much abuse, so this cheap thing should be fine for a basic bathroom that will probably be remodeled in a year anyway, but if I have problems before then I'll update the review.

On the whole this looks good and works well. My only grumble is that the piece that goes through the role is plastic and looks a little cheap, but that's no big deal.

We purchased this along with several other Delta Windemere products. All of them were good products, but I'd recommend using a slightly smaller drill bit than the one that the booklet suggests. I used the size that it recommended and it wound up being too large for the anchors that they supplied. Due to this, the anchor kept spinning as I was trying to screw the bracket into the wall.

I purchased many items in this style: towels bars, towel rings, hooks, and the toilet paper holder. The finish is very nice, the items are very sturdy and solid. They definitely finish off one of our guest baths very nicely. I also like that all the hardware is hidden and the finished look is very clean.
