Here is a tip I discovered which will prove helpful to you: take a damp sponge and wet the counter top space you want to set it on and with that same sponge, dampen the base of the paper towel holder and the suction cup base will work great! Not happy with the time of suction to tabletop. Even with moisture to table & holder the most it stays suctioned to table is 15 minutes.
