InterDesign Bruschia Over-the-Door Rack, Brushed Chrome

I ordered this on the strength of the several top reviews. It came quickly and is very nice looking. It fits over the door very well and the price is reasonable. I thought it would be perfect. But here in rural Alaska, even our summer fall coats are heavy and this design is deficient. The hooks pull down until they are horizontal with a couple of Carhart coats on it. If the base plate that supports the hooks was wider, came down 2 times farther below the hooks it MIGHT be better. Otherwise the thin metal suspension straps are probably too thin and allow the base plate to torque down. So, for hanging light wt clothes and a couple hats, this is a dandy unit. But if you want to hang several medium to heavier coats, Keep looking. Regretfully, this one isn't quite sturdy enough. I'll have to move it to a bedroom door for light wt stuff.

I work overseas and live in dorm-style housing. I have this hanging over my locker door and use almost every hook for something towel, lounge clothes, robe, jacket, etc. This is a very sturdy coat rack for just a piece of metal that hangs over the door. It seems like if anything is going to give out it will be the locker door first :-).

Love this coat rack, it's a little pricier in terms of over the door racks but it's sturdy and NOT cheap looking. I also love how the ends of the hooks are a bit thicker so they don't hurt my coats (especially the leather). The double hooks ends are far enough apart so you can hang clothes on both ends without them being too bulky and without falling off.

If you are like me and don't want to hassle with drilling holes in your doors, or want to see if you'll use the hooks before you drill a permanent arrangement, then this is the solution for you. This over-the-door rack is pretty sturdy, can support some heavy towels or coats, and is easy as pie to install. Oddly, the photo shown makes the part of the hardware that goes over the door look like it'll only fit over a very thin door, but fear not, it fits just fine on regular standard-issue doors. We got interested in these when we realized that our dog believes that anything left on a surface within his reach must be a chew toy. I've now bought two for different bedrooms and will probably buy a third for our bathroom. More is more for us when it comes to storage (our house doesn't have large closets), so it only seemed logical to get the model with the six double-hooks. No, you won't probably mistake the quality for some hooks from a high-end store, but you'll be getting a fairly attractive option that works for a pretty darn good price.
