Calphalon 2-Piece Potholder Set

These potholders look better than they work. While they do live up to their claim to be extremely heat proof, and they're affordable, they're very difficult to use. They're flexible enough but you can't get a good grip on pans, casserole dishes, etc. to remove then from the oven. Perhaps if they had a pocket to put your hand in they'd work better. For now I only use them as "hot plates" because they just don't work well for retrieving objects from hot ovens or stove tops.

These potholders were expensive and I did not expect them to fall apart but the piping and the fabric separated and began to fray after only about 6 uses. Also, they were somewhat difficult to use because of the silicone on the surface of the fabric very grippy to everything it touched so the placement of the potholder was cumbersome. sounds weird but true!

These work very well overall, but are not as easy for me to work with as other potholders that I have used.

My previous pot holder were pocket style design. I find the pocket style easier to hold and work with. These can be a bit too big. When turning a pan of muffins around in the oven for even baking, I usually get these potholders into one of the muffins by accident.

On the other hand, these potholders grip the pan very very well. I haven't burned my hands at all when using them. They have come out perfectly clean from the washing machine when they get dirty. I had to throw away my previous potholders due to so many stains. These look like they will last longer.

Very pretty and easy to use. These potholders fold over for better grip without a lot of "extra" holder to catch on fire or get caught on something. Highly recommend.

Burnt my hand using to get pan out of oven. No I did not toss them. Silly me got burnt twice more using them! Not heat resistant!
