I bought this rack for an outdoor towel/clothes rack for near a hot tub and wanted stainless steel so it wouldn't rust. The rack seems sturdy enough for five towels, but I wouldn't want to load it completely with wet towels and clothes. Although the rack is stainless steel, the hook ends are actually a short piece of clear plastic with a stainless steel cap that cannot be seen in the picture, so I have a concern about how well it will hold up in outdoor weather. The supplied anchor hardware is for light drywall mount but I would recommend a more sturdy mount with longer screws. The mounting holes are about 17 inches apart so it will need to be precisely aligned if you want to mount it to 16" standard stud spacing.

This simple chrome bar looks a bit more modern (and less cheap motel) than the other ones in this price range, and many of the other bars at this price do not include the end caps.

This is a complete kit, all you need to provide are the anchors. Installation was a breeze. Just follow the old adage: measure twice, drill once, and you'll be all set.

Fit and finish were fine no complaints there. Has held up fine after 2 months no signs of rust, pitting, or other finish damage. Easily holds three damp towels without any bending, etc. Would happily buy it again.

Then these will probably work for you. I'm installing a towel bar in a Starcraft van that I'm restoring. I was leery about this item because of the inexpensive price, although the length and design seemed to match what I wanted. Once delivered, the item is definitely on the cheap side as far as material quality is concerned. I'm just throwing away the one I bought however. It's just too chintzy to go into my van. I just know that six months down the road this finish is going to tarnish, chip, and rust.

KOHLER K-14436-CP Purist 24-Inch Towel Bar, Polished Chrome

I spent over a year making our bathroom a showplace and an oasis. Having used Purist plumbing fixtures, I decided to spend the bucks on the towel bars and paper holder. The look is great, and the bars and paper holder went up easily. Good quality and beautiful zen design. I'm happy with the decision but wonder why Kohler Purist is sooo expensive. Note: I went back and forth on 24" vs 30" bar. Glad I settled on 2 24" bars. Lots of room.

Nice, simple "zen-like" design, but way over priced. I really don't know why it is so expensive. We chose this product line because it goes with our other fixture purchases. 4 stars for design, 1 star for price.

First off they actually look pretty nice. All have a similar design that goes well with each other. All are bamboo with stainless steel on the ends etc. They all feel sturdy and in my opinion well worth the price.

But at first impression I have to say I felt a bit different as many of the stainless steel 'caps' on the end of the towel bars, hook, and toilet paper holder had fallen off. Also, if you look at the pictures you can see round bamboo pieces that sit inside the stainless steel...some of these came unglued. Pretty easy fix for all of that using a couple drops of super glue. Once I did that they looked brand new.

The mounting hardware is a bit cheap...well the screws are fine but the plastic wall anchors were horrible. I tried using them at first and some cracked or simple were too hard for the screws to thread in and made the anchor turn in the drywall.

I replaced them with some other plastic anchors I had lying around and worked like they should.

So I highly recommend super glue and wall anchors.

Other than that I think these are great quality and will last a long time. They have a darker color of bamboo but really look good. I hope this helps.

I really like the towel bar. However, plan on buying your own wall-anchors, should you have need of them. The included ones are useless.

This "espresso" colored product along with the matching bathroom toilet tissue roll are painted BLACK, not brown. If you thought "espresso" meant brown and saw the image which looks like stained brown bamboo to me and doesn't even pass as close to black. The paint covers up the wood grains so that you can't tell it's bamboo unless you look really close.

Other than the unclear labelling of the color, the quality is high.

Gatco 4583 Laurel Avenue Tissue Holder, Polished Nickel

Good quality polished Nicole finish. Solid heavy feel to it nice to find this finish in an affordable line. Spent literally hundreds of $$ on our other polished nickel fixtures in other main bathrooms and were glad to find this line for a rarely used spare bath. Has decent mounting hardware and looks great. For the money this is a really fair alternative to Kolher or Rohl that cost 4-5x as much.

Mountain Woods Paper Towel Holder

I thought when I purchased this paper towel rack, that the "stick" went completely through to the other sidethat is not the case. So, if you mount it horizontially underneith a cabinet, itcan come apart very easily. However, if you mount it vertically I'm sure it would work fine. I have since purchased a paper towel rack that does have a stick running all the way through the paper towel opening, but I most definitely will keep my original and mount it vertically next time. It is a very nice towel holder and I am overall very pleased.

This paper towel rack is so ridiculous that I thought I might be on Candid Camera. The pin is about a quarter inch and too short to keep towel roll from falling out when you rip off a a sheet. Amazon needs to evaluate products before offering them for sale.

obviously not much care went into the manufacturing of this holder. corners are stapled and loose, paper towels are sloppily held by a short dowel. certainly expected better for the price

Grundtal Stainless Steel shelving,pan rack,wall shelf for the kitchen

The overall look is fantastic; tubes of stainless is gorgeous for sure! An added bonus is they pretty much can't get dirty, all dust and dirt and water fall right through the rods!

now for the limitations:

1. the counter-sink holes for the screws are not uniform so the screw heads don't seat flush. minor but it's not as clean as it should be.

2. The tubes are made of very thin metal. I have the 48" long version which exaggerates the issue but even the 31" version will have considerable 'wobble' and 'flex' to the tubes when placing items. even a 2-3 pound load will make the tubes bend and flex. It's most noticeable if you put on a small item that only touches 2-3 rods but has some heft to it; it makes other items rock back and forth that share the same rods.

3. egregious oversight: the width does NOT match the standard spacing of STUDS in the wall, so there is virtually no way to mount this item solidly. wall anchors? please. On mine I was able to put the brackets on with the bracket to the OUTSIDE of the bars which spread the spacing between mounting holes to just about 48 ½ inches so i could get the screws into the STUDS so it's solid.

I added some support brackets under the rods at each 16" and now the shelf is 'as it should be'. I could probably put 200# of items on EACH shelf without a problem. My added brackets don't reach to the very first rod so it's super obvious how wobbly the rods are without the added support. I tried to take a picture but didn't have enough hands.

This is an attractive and well-built item. I mounted it right above my sink, where I can lay sponges, towels, and where it holds a multitude of kitchen tools, thus freeing up the space around my sink and in my previously cluttered kitchen drawers (you'd be surprised how many of your kitchen utensils -even knives -have hanging holes in them!). As long as you measure your intended wall space correctly, you should love this item! Oh yes, you have to separately buy lots of matching "S-hooks" to hang your utensils, and also some screws to mount the item, too (the lack of which is why I didn't rate this item "5-stars"). Enjoy!

This is a sturdy SS shelf, quality throughout. However, be sure that it is the type of shelf you want. The bearing surface of the shelf is 6 SS tubes. This type of shelf is excellent for some purposes, inappropriate for others. I affixed mine above a triple SS sink to use for drying commercial gear after washing and they work great. Would not work for storing small objects, as an example.

We have a very small kitchen with very few cabinets and we love to cook. This shelf serves as storage for all of our stovetop cookware and utensils and looks great doing it. We store big pans on top and hang small pans and utensils from the rails with the Grundtal S-hooks (purchased separately). You can get it all at Ikea for less but if you do not live near an Ikea, as I do not, the extra money you spend purchasing it here will be less than the gas money you would spend driving into the next state to the nearest Ikea store.

This little hook is well made, all metal... even though it's small, it's heavy. The chrome finish looks perfect. I almost didn't want to install it but to cradle it all the time because it's so beautiful. Because it is held by only one screw, you will need to make sure you anchor the screw into a stud or use a very good wall anchor.

Aside from the fact that it's a cheap piece of garbage (I had to bend it back into shape upon receiving it, and it's too light to keep itself in place when you pull a towel off.), it's also got a little bolt sticking out of the bottom that extends beyond the little rubber feet and scratches any surface you use it on. It was received broken. The inside box had a hole in it and the towel stem was broken off. I feel it was done before it was shipped as there was no damage to the outside box.

I had some cheap thing that I bought at a great big Home center (get it). It looked nice, but it was wobbly, and I found that the mount was not well thought out it began to get metal fatigue within a couple of years, so that hanging even two bath towels on it made it loose and crooked. I was constantly fighting with it.

I decided to replace it with a different brand and got this. The mount is well designed and solid, easy to install, and it looks great. The towel bar no longer sags or wiggles. But when we had our shower redone, the workers had to take it off the wall so that they could get in and out without damaging it. Once the job was finished, they reinstalled the towel bar but they lost one of the little set screws, so once again, I had a very unstable towel rack.

I contacted Gatco and told them my problem. I also told them that I had replaced the towel bar in my other bathroom with a Gatco towel bar because I'd been so impressed with this one. They sent me 5 new set screws free of charge. And they sent them within just a few days, so I was very pleased, and now all of my towel racks are perfect! Thanks, Gatco!!!

Home Swing Arm Towel Rail in Polished Chrome Finish

We installed the bar a few days ago. My husband has been installing towel racks/bars all over the house so by the time he was doing this one, he was an expert. It looked great on the wall. But once we put 2 bath towels (dry), the round part holding it to the wall started to tilt right and forward. IT CANNOT HOLD THE WEIGHT.

I had this towel bar installed on the back wall of my shower during a bathroom remodel. Use it to hold my washcloth. It looks great and does the job. The arm does tilt/slid down from time to time and I have to move it back up, but the washcloth stays on. I think it's really made to hold dish towels in the kitchen, not heavy bath towels like the other reviewer mentioned. It's way too expensive, but it completes the upscale look I wanted in the tub to complement the pebble tile. I would buy it again.

OXO Good Grips Toilet Brush and Canister, White

I have used these OXO toilet brushes in all 3 bathrooms in our house for a long time, and was pretty happy with them. Like many other users, I found that the clam shell would not always stay open, but I dealt with that by taking the brush out at an angle, which pushed the rod against the shell top and forced the shell to lock open.

This morning I discovered something that led me to throw all three of these away -rust stains on my recently remodeled guest bathroom's stone floor.

The drip pan on the case is shallow. Unbeknownst to me, the drip pan became over full, probably due to the brush being put back into the shell with a lot of water on it on multiple occasions. Water spilled over the edge of the drip pan onto the floor. The metal parts in the drip pan (I think the hinges for the clamshell) that are not stainless steel had rusted over time, so the water that spilled over was orange with rust. Because we rarely use this bathroom, we were not aware that water had overflowed, and it sat there until it dried. Now I have orange rust stains on my expensive stone floor.

Why would OXO, which is known for making quality kitchen and bath products, use non-rust-proof metal in a toilet brush holder? Why is the drip pan so shallow?

I'm now looking for a replacement that has a deeper drip pan and no rusting metal parts.

Oxo has come up with a clever way to conveniently hide a hideous toilet brush into a sleek economical case that allows it to drip dry. You hardly have to bend over to use it's automatic flap open when you pull or flap closed when putting it home. It would be very cool in brushed nickel, bronze or stainless. This is a VERY good buy! I bought 3 and now I'm ordering two more.

I have had this toilet brush for years and I love it. The case works well, it is attractive (you know, considering it's a toilet brush), and it works well. The shape of the head gets completely under the rim of the toilet unlike others, which all seem to have exactly the same shaped brush. I used a different brush yesterday that I keep in a second bathroom. It made me realize how good the OXO really is. It sat in a puddle of disgusting water that was trapped inside its case, which ensured that I was cleaning my toilet with stagnant filth. I'm replacing it with another OXO right away! The black section above the head is supposed to be a flexible. It really isn't. That is my only complaint, but it really works fine as is.

This brush is well designed and constructed. I've used it for over a year, so I know for sure that it's pretty durable. And it has an attractive look about it.

So I can recommend this, but it's with one reservation. Oxo has a compact version that sells for $7 less. When I decide to get another brush for a second bathroom, that's the model I expect to get. So, a careful consideration of the size that you actually need might allow you to save some money.

And in this economy, that's not such a bad idea.

Stylish for our simple tastes. No problem for my husband to put it up. Goes well with the Motiv Quattro swivel towel hoop. It was hard to find this length towel bar to put on the side of my vanity. Appears to be good quality after about 4 weeks.

I purchased two Gatco Bleu chrome 18" towel bars at a home center. Unlike many towel bars, the mounts of these are solidly fastened to the bar. Thus, these bars cannot be shortened if you so need. One of the two bars I purchased rocked badly when placed on a flat surface because the two mounts were not properly aligned, so I was forced to exchange it. The advantage of this particular style is that it extends only 2-3/4" beyond the mounting surface. If you have a tight spot where you want a towel bar on the end of a vanity cabinet like we do, this might be a good choice. It seems solidly made, but a bit more expensive than many.

InterDesign York Tension Caddy

This product looks great; the baskets are solid. The only negative is the pole; it is too small in diameter to carry the load of the baskets especially when filled with shampoo etc. It works well; just don't bump it.

I searched high and low for a tension shower caddy that would go in my modern bathroom at a decent price as many of these things are >$100. I came across this one and it was on sale for about $45 at time of purchase. There was one common complaint in the dozens of reviews I scoured that I must agree with: I can't get the right fit/amount of tension in the pole. The description states that it is adjustable from 5'-9'. Upon opening the box I saw that I had two different length tension rods which are what changes the length of the pole. As many other people reported, my shower floor-ceiling length is just in between the two poles: long tension pole makes caddy too long to install in my bathroom and the shorter rod doesn't give me enough tension. I decided to just use the shorter pole so that I could at least use the caddy. I have to admit that as long as I don't bump into the caddy it works just fine. I am quite a bit worried about having house guests and having to forewarn them that they may have to worry about the shower caddy coming down on them in the shower if they bump into it.

Though all in all it is absolutely beautiful (love the razor hooks and the wash cloth bar) -I've only been using it about a month -if I find that it begins to rust, I'll let y'all know :)

This product looks SO simple to put together, yet it took me about 3 days to complete. That's about 20 minutes a session before I got frustrated and gave up each time. Here's the rundown of what to avoid that the directions don't tell you:

1. It says to put the plastic insert rings into the shelves. This is correct. It does NOT point out that there are little lines along the plastic that lock it in place and if you accidently shove the ring in where one of those lines matches up with the screw hole -then you can't put the screw in!! You will need to drill out some of the plastic to fix this. As soon as the plastic it put into the ring, it's not coming out and it can't be rotated.

2. If you put a screw in too tight (which is probably the correct tightness when you are done) it actually bends a mark into the pole which you never see. Even though the third step is to put the screws in lightly I say skip it and do it last. It's almost impossible to put the screw in enough to stay in place but not bend the plastic. Once it's in far enough to bend the plastic you can not longer get the baskets on the pole and if you screw it in while it's on the pole -it actually bends a dent into the metal pole that you cannot see. That's good for keeping it in place, but horrible if you accidently put a dent into the top pole which includes the spring. The spring no longer easily goes into place and it cannot be fixed. Just a word of warning, just leave the screws to the last step.

3. It says you can put the baskets in any order, but keep physics in mind when putting it together. Don't put a basket too high that you can accidently 'pull' the caddy and try to put the majority of the weight (the largest basket) on the bottom. Test out different items and make sure the one that holds your scrub is high enough from the basket below it before locking it in place.

I finally tried to get organization in my bathrooms and I saw this shower caddy and looked forward to getting 2. One for each bathroom. I am so disappointed. I put up the first one and in less than 2 hours, the basket that holds the facecloth fell off of the tension bar. Now mind you that the facecloth was dry so there was no weight at all on it. When it fell of course it fell in the tub and left a big chip in the tub. It was a bit pricey and I do not mind paying if it is made with good quality. I still have yet to put up the second one.

This shower caddy became a rusty mess one month after living in a lightly used shower! This was a very expensive caddy, so I invested even more money and time trying to save it by scrubbing off rust with chemicals and coating the darn thing in boat wax, as per the suggestion of several websites. (Boat and Airplane Wax. Yep. Should come in handy after I throw the caddy out the window, sending it flying) I still can't believe I did all that...and STILL the rust came back!! I'll never purchase an InterDesign item again. It is shameful that they charge so much for something so cheaply made. I've never purchased an item like this online before. I did it to save some money. If I'd bought this in a store, the return process would've been easy.
